The Strathmore Residence

Strathmore Residence

Positioned proudly on a leafy street in Strathmore, this home is a striking example of how thoughtful design, curated materials and a shared vision can culminate in a truly unique and deeply personal living environment.

From the outset, the facade sets a refined tone. Clean architectural lines are elevated through a sophisticated palette of natural travertine tiling, textured neutral render and feature cladding, offering warmth, contrast and architectural depth. A timber panelled front door with a grey tundra stone handle makes for a subtle yet sculptural entry, signalling the considered materiality within.

Inside, every space has been meticulously crafted to reflect the lifestyle and aesthetic of its owners. Light-filled and layered with texture, the interior language moves seamlessly from softness to structure. A gallery-style hallway, punctuated by creamy herringbone flooring and curated artwork, offers a quiet rhythm to the home’s journey. As you reach its heart, a bespoke stone bar acts as a sculptural pause between spaces - both functional and visually arresting.

The open-plan kitchen is a centrepiece of calm luxury. A curved island bench with super white natural stone benchtops anchors the space with its organic form balancing the architectural edges. Timber joinery introduces warmth and contrast, while a discreet butler’s pantry enhances the space for convenience. The palette continues upstairs, reinforcing design continuity and quiet cohesion.

Beyond beauty, this home incorporates layers of materials that enhances the home’s storytelling. Stone becomes the thread that binds the interiors together - from the super white kitchen benchtops to the decadent calacatta viola used throughout.

The opulent powder room makes a bold statement with materici foresta feature tiles and calacatta viola stone vanity which is glamorously extended to the front of each drawer – a feature shared with the expansive make-up nook upstairs. With this layer of decadence continued in through the dining table and custom bedside tables upstairs.

Each bathroom within the home has been distinctly styled to offer a unique experience. The powder room exudes sophistication and glamour with its moody tones and rich finishes. The master ensuite is a study in understated elegance, where sumptuous stone and seamless custom joinery elevate the everyday into moments of indulgence. In contrast, the children’s bathroom is playful and vibrant featuring floor-to-ceiling terrazzo tiles paired with gold tapware bring an energy that celebrates playful personality without sacrificing style.

The formal lounge, bathed in dusty pink hues and softened by sheer curtains, introduces a more feminine sensibility, where sculptural furnishings and curated pieces create a serene retreat. In the main living area, expansive windows and sliding doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, drawing the garden, alfresco and pool into view. A stone wrapped fireplace becomes a striking focal point, adding warmth and material richness. The raised ceiling enhances this feeling of openness and light.

Upstairs, the master suite is conceived as a private sanctuary. A curved, timber-panelled wall leads to his-and-hers walk-in wardrobes, with a bespoke calacatta viola stone vanity offering a luxurious space for pause and personal rituals.

Ultimately, this residence is more than just a beautiful home - it’s a reflection of the possibilities unlocked when architectural vision and personal expression align. Through the Expressions Series, clients are empowered to collaborate closely with our design team to create homes that are highly individual, rich in detail and crafted to the way they live.
